Overview

Agent Router is an open-source TypeScript tool for choosing a coding agent and model for a task.

It first narrows the options using available tools and account quotas, then asks an external service to rank them. Its local-first design still sends task text to an external classification service.

The problem it addresses

With several agent subscriptions, choosing a tool depends on both the task and the available quota and models.

How it works

  1. Provide a task and configure available agent accounts.
  2. Filter eligible options using account state and rules.
  3. Send the task for external ranking, then launch the selected agent.

Current progress

The README explicitly marks the project as pre-release. Configuration and records are primarily local, but routing calls TypeSafe and sends task text; this is not an entirely offline system.
